Australia Day is a national Aussie holiday celebrated not only on the home continent, but also here in Russia’s capital. The Australian Cultural Center in Moscow and "Masterslavl" children's educational center celebrated Australian Day, with a huge educational program for children.
The team from the Australian Cultural Center familiarized the young ‘Australia Day’ participants with the Australian aboriginal culture and its traditions; introducing to the distant continent in the form of informative games and workshops.

Australia Day

One of the most popular and entertaining workshops was boomerang painting in which, Gabe Kozulan, president of the Australian Cultural Center in Moscow, took an active part.

Decorating shaped cookies

Professional musicians recited Aboriginal dreamtime legends to the accompaniment of the didgeridoo. Children decorated kangaroo, koala and boomerang shaped cookies with icing and colored freckles; an activity that found parents readily taking part. However, the most active kids genuinely enjoyed the Aussie Rules football workshop.

Aboriginal paintings and boomerangs

The organizers exhibited Aboriginal paintings and boomerangs, as well as a scenic Australian photo exhibition.
The Australian Cultural Centre in Moscow thanks its friends and permanent partners for their assistance in organizing the Australia Day event: Zuhra Konakova - Head of the Children's Culinary Design Club "Academy of Family Wizards" "Drawing simple" creative workshop and musician Sergei Razumov.
